“Oh my God,” the blood left his face as fury rose, “What the hell did she do.”

The Nightlings: Chapter 14
“This is the beginning of the end,” Robyn groaned, “This is when you’re going to abandon me for a boy?”
I made a mistake
If you came to the blog yesterday, you may now notice that Chapter 14 is now gone. First the first time, instead of writing forward I’m going back. I rushed into the Chapter to fast. I was hung up on writers block and getting back to posting on time that I didn’t put as much thought into what I wrote. Chapter 13 was written in a day but it was all new material that made science. With Chapter 14, I started to get into the original Nanowrimo draft. I used the next scene that happened in that draft without thinking that the story has changed since then. As I started to write chapter 15, what I wrote before didn’t make since. The last time this happened was with Chapter 11; it worked out well but this time it wouldn’t.
The new Chapter 14 should be up either today or tomorrow. Lesson learned; try to find the balance between quality and quantity.
The Nightlings: Chapter 13
Monday thought that Robyn’s parent’s obsession with birds stopped at their kids names. Looking around their home, she was clearly wrong. There were birds everywhere; from the fabric on the couch to the details on the wall paper, there was not 1 inch of their house that didn’t have a bird on it. All around their house, beady eyes from figurines followed you wherever you went.
Sneak peak
This is not so much a sneak peak but more of a I’m late on posting the next chapter because this summer has turned me into a sloth who gets nothing done. For example, a list of things I was supposed to do this summer:
- Update blog weekly
- Write book
- Clean living room
- Work out for Quidditch
None of the things on this list I’ve done. Even the fun list of things to do:
- Get caught up on doctor who
- Listen to podcast
- Redo home library
- Play new grand theft auto game
I did install a web blocking program on my browser to keep me off of places like YouTube and Tumblr, but I always find some new way to procrastinate. It’s the homeschool years all over again. Side story, my mother blocked the channels on TV but the home shopping network so I would do my work while she was at school. What did I do instead? Watch home shopping network. It was all fun and games until she then spliced the cord for to the TV and GameCube.
Good news is that I’m house sitting this summer and will use the alone to get caught up on chapters. I also did do some out of home research. Parts of Chapter 13 were inspired by the Mercer Botanic Garden. Until the next chapter, here are some photos.
The Nightlings: Chapter 12
The house was quite as Cynthia Patrick roamed around her kitchen making her morning cup of tea. She had the place to herself for the first time in weeks after dropping her son off at his grandmothers. She shuffled over to the stove in her old flannel gown, probably thinking about her meet up with Greg this weekend, and put the water on to boil. As soon as the kettle started to whistle, she reached over to turn it off when a hand camp up from behind and held her mouth shut.
Monday slit the blade across Cynthia Patrick’s throat, tensing up as Cynthia Patrick’s body fell to the floor. Monday inhaled the scent of blood: even when she wasn’t in Nightling form she could taste it in the air.
